Welcome to the Suså Festival ’10 –
Three late summer days of new music and a window on Poland
It is Suså Festival time again! Three late summer days of new music on 3rd, 4th & 5th September at Grønnegades Kaserne KULTURCENTER [the Grønnegade Barracks Arts Centre], Næstved (five minutes from Næstved train station].
The Suså Festival is an annual meeting place for serious contemporary music; a “golden meeting” of composers, audiences and players; three intense days featuring seven prominent soloists and ensembles from at home and abroad, a lyrics, drama, ballet and music show, and a fascinating meet-the-composer event.
This year the festival will also be presenting Window on Poland, for which we are flying in the elite an_ARCHE NewMusicEnsemble in from Poznan.
This year twentynine contemporary composers will be providing a picture of music today: in Poland via six works, in Denmark via fourteen works and moreover, several remarkable international composers such as Xenakis, Ferneyhough, Kurtág and Crumb.
If you are interested in contemporary music, or if you are simply curious about the times in which you live, try the Suså Festival; it may be just up your street!
Welcome to the festival!
